Fift project for Oceanica delivered

Green Yard Kleven is happy to announce that the conversion and reactivation project for “Oceanicasub XVII” has been completed, and the ship has started her journey to Brazil.

This is the fifth project Green Yard Kleven has completed for Oceanica. This proves the strong and trusted relationship between the two organizations and demonstrates how well we cooperate.

The ship is an anchor handling vessel (AHTS) that has now extended its capabilities to also perform ROV operations. Two mezzanine decks have been installed, and the accommodation and office facilities have been expanded. A new ROV LARS system has been installed. In addition, all motors, thrusters, cranes, and other technical equipment have been overhauled.

Green Yard sees Oceanica as a ship owner that is truly committed to sustainability through the way they expand and operate their fleet. This makes us a good match.

“We appreciate your support in carrying out yet another project for the reactivation and conversion of the vessel SUB XVII. Your cooperation throughout this process is highly valued,” says Fernando Cesar Dos Santos,  Director for engineering and operations at Oceanica.

The ship is well known at the yard, as she was originally built here as B313 Rem Balder, the first of three sister vessels. Later we followed her as Normand Titan, and now she has returned to the yard for conversion and lifetime extension, renamed Oceanicasub XVII.

“This project is directly within our core business of sustainability and circular value chains. Lifetime extension, retrofit, and conversions have a significant impact on reducing environmental footprint while also reducing cost and delivery time. When this is carried out with a strong focus on HSEQ and workers’ welfare, the project becomes highly sustainable,” says Karl Johan Barstad, CCO at Green Yard.

A team of local companies has also taken part in the project, including Marin Teknikk, Volti, and Ulmatec. We would also like to acknowledge the good cooperation with Tschudi Ship Management, which has managed the vessel and crew onboard during this project.

“Returning customers are the best proof that our team delivers. I am truly proud of what the Green Yard team has delivered to Oceanica. I would also like to thank the management of Oceanica for the strong and trusted cooperation we have,” says Hans Jørgen Fedog, CEO of Green Yard.

Green Yard Kleven is part of the Green Yard Group, together with the sister yard Green Yard Feda. The yards currently have several ongoing conversion projects for Next Geosolutions, TGS, and Sea Shipping, as well as a newbuilding project for OMV Petrom. In addition, four recycling projects are ongoing.
